da life

It is amazing what a difference a pro photographer makes.  Thanks again, Jim Whetstone, for these amazing photos.  The floor is regular Home Depot marble and my glass stripes.  I had to fill underneath so the glass and marble are level, or close enough for me.  Everything difficult in this makeover was done by a contractor that I highly recommend, Vince Musser.  He removed everything old and prepared all the subfloor etc.  All I did was tile over everything.
Yeah, I DO enjoy soaking in this tub.  I feel pretty darn spoiled in my tiny bathroom.
The mosaic behind the sink is mostly mirror but it reflects the blue tub surround.  The sink's counter top is a trip because it is made with all kinds of neat stuff, covered in resin.  The leg is from a covered bridge!  This is da life.

any way you can

OK, wow.  It's been a while.  I just now see that I didn't even post photos of my bathroom after it was finished.  Pfffft! Trying to up my game a bit, I have hired a professional photographer, Jim Whetstone, to get this mosaic AND my bathroom.  I just got my photos back this afternoon and as soon as I get through the bathroom ones, I will get them up too.  But NOW, I am so excited to show you my glasstronaut.  Yup, it's me and Bonz.  Just trying to make the world a better place, the only way I know how.   "any way you can" is for sale and she will be up on my site as soon as I get a chance.  If there is anyone you think would be a good fit, please send them my way!  Jim's site is linked above, check him out.  These photos are all his except the pup at the bottom taken by yours truly, me.

no, for real

You never saw this coming, did you?  I wrote a freaking book!   Yeah, it's a REAL book.  OMG, this is surreal.  It hasn't really sunk in yet.  I thought I finished it a few years ago but then there is this little thing called editing.  My daughter informed me that I had to call my pile of papers a MANUSCRIPT, not a book.

Judging from the questions I get, I often think that people have the wrong impression of what it is really like to chase a dream.  I try to answer questions as honestly as possible but back in the middle of 2010, I decided to just tell you everything.  A lot of people have told me they would like to see in my head.  Well, this is as close as I can get to showing you.  This is MY story in MY language... at least a few years of my journey.  My hope is that maybe my ramblings about my journey might help you on yours.

If you DO read this book and it helps you, please recommend it to a friend.  I'm not really sure how this will all work out because my mission is to sell my art.  I have to figure out how a book fits in.  The link to purchase is here  https://www.createspace.com/5803441  It is 13 smackaroos.  I will keep you posted.  Right now, I will try to wrap my head around the fact that I wrote a book.  Life is good.  What a ride.

blue gush

When I install something in my own home, I think about resale.  I really do.  I wanted to do my tiny bathroom entirely in soft greys, but have a way blue glass sink.  THAT would be the cool feature in the bathroom.  I started on the floor.  No problem there.  I used $4 a square Home Depot marble tiles and added my glass.
Then I started on the tub surround and got about this far and began thinking that I have to live in this house till I sell it.

That could be a long time.  So thoughts about neutral colors are set aside when I saw this glass.
This needs cleaned up quite a bit, still has spacers in, and it gets a grey grout like the floor.  But you get the idea.  There is a tub under the newspaper and blue tape.  Tomorrow, I start the sink.  WOOHOOOO blue!
